West Wollongong/Figtree – Princes Highway, next to the Hellenic Club. Now a trade union has its local headquarters here, but the 19th century / Georgian look suggests an inn. I have heard it was once Figtree Post Office. Does anyone know for sure?

This is an older photo from Trove.

  1. The Bessa block construction and aluminium window puts it squarely in the mid-late 20th century. However the chimneys and roof-line would suggest there is an earlier structure “buried inside”. The dolls shop has been there only in the last ten years so I don’t think that photo is very old.
