NSW Premier Barry O’Farrell officially has unveiled the Centenary of Illawarra Rugby League sculpture outside the northern entrance to WIN Stadium.Mr O’Farrell invited centenary committee chairman Bob Millward to assist with the unveiling of the sculpture which is the final event on the centenary year calendar.

Former Wollongong sculptor Lis Johnson who now lives in Melbourne produced a unique bronze sculpture depicting past and future generations of rugby league in Illawarra. It shows a player from the past 100 years of rugby league passing the football to a youngster carry it on into the code’s next century in this district.
